Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have released their Winter Safety booklets containing information on Winter Safety. This includes reminders on safety tips when using electric blankets, portable heaters and candles. There is also a guide to Chimney safety, stoves and Carbon Monoxide.
The leaflets also highlight the importance of making sure that you have a working smoke alarm in your home. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service can even install smoke alarms free if you need them. It only takes around 20 minutes and their advice and help could save your life. To request a free Home Safety Visit, call 0800 0731 999 or text 'FIRE' to 80800 or visit www.firescotland.gov.uk
